Recap of The Bachelor Canada 2 Premiere

The candles were lit, the fairy lights were turned on and thank God someone remembered to hose down the driveway. Tim Warmels debuted as Canada's new Bachelor in an episode that, although slightly better than season 1, was still a yawner.

It began as was customary. Tim's intro goes over his backstory. He's just an average Canadian guy. He used to be an investment banker who worked 100+ hours per week then suddenly one day woke up and decided this wasn't the life he wanted. He now has a tech start-up and does construction on the side. Right. He failed to mention  his modeling and acting career. Funny how that was missed...perhaps they don't want to hint at him being the Bachelor for all the wrong reasons. He is a romantic and may just believe in love at first sight. Right. He grew up playing hockey, because you know, he's Canadian. He can also shower, shave and dress all by himself. He feels comfortable wearing capri pants or simulating that look by rolling up his pant legs. It isn't every guy who can get away with that. He often gets off a plane and jumps on his motorcycle which awaits right there on the tarmac. I thought only James Bond did that kind of stuff.

Preview of Episode 11 "Put the Fun Back in Fundy" Amazing Race Canada 2

Yes, there are spoilers here...including the identity of the eliminated team.

Woot! Woot! It's the semi-finals! I am excited and sad the season is coming to an end.

The teams will drive to New Brunswick via the Confederation Bridge. This means that unlike other legs, the departure times will play a role because there won't be an equalizing wait for a flight to the next destination.

Preview of Episode 10 "Hot Poop" Amazing Race Canada 2 in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Yes, there are spoilers here.

We will see another early morning departure from Montreal. And you can expect the teams will be shocked, again, to see Ryan and Rob show up at the airport.

This episode was filmed May 19th. Prince Charles and Camilla arrived in Charlottetown later that night at 6 PM, so the city was all abuzz. So much so that some people may have thought nothing of the cluebox out front of Province House, where the teams made an early morning stop.

Recap of Episode 9 "How Are We Going to Explain This to Mom and Dad Amazing Race Canada 2

Or as I like to call it, "Keep Your Eyes Shut"

Rain, rain, rain and bad choices.

It was another very early morning start as teams set off from the capital of France to (as Jon describes) "what was once known as the capital of New France"...Montreal. Naturally from this intro we expect a bit of tip of the hat to Canada's early French settlers or at least some history on this leg. Sadly, we don't get it. Something was really lacking on this leg. I think there just wasn't anything that pointed out the charms of Montreal. I had the same reaction as the Vancouver leg last year...I think there should be a re-do! This doesn't mean it wasn't a good episode as far as the challenges or team dynamics are concerned.
